abba stand

Hi,
I have just acquired a 2006 Tuono and am very impressed; I ran a Blackbird for 7 years and wanted something a bit lighter and with an upright riding position.
I have heard that an Abba stand is the best for the T, what with no centre stand and all.
Then, I read somewhere that the Abba fouls the sidestand, preventing easy use.
I would like to know if anyone here has a view, or experience of the Abba stand on a 2006 Tuono.
Cheers

Abba stand doesnt foul the original side stand (Gen 2) , it does however foul some replacements. many owners replace the original as they can fall over in high wind or when you get a puncture. (do a search... loads of info)
I have the US stand and it does foul that, however (after some guidance from on here...) it is very easy to use even having to flick the stand up. Makes greasing the link plate bearings a lot easier too etc etc...

Well worth it in my opinion.

I use an Abba stand for some jobs on the bike and havent had an issue despite having a fireblade stand on .I have a paddock stand with bobbins for general use just quicker to use and its very sexy harris racing light alloy one !!

abba stand is excellent ... i bought mine at the NEC last year ...

Occasionally they come up on e-bay ... and I think I'm right in saying the stand is common to all bikes ... its just the adaptor bittys that are bike specific so you might drop lucky and buy one cheap and get a mate with a lathe to make you the adaptors ... somebody on here would give you all the dimensions.

Hi Newelly 2,thanks for the info; I'll keep my eyes open and plan on going to the bike show this year

I got an abba usually use it for front wheel removal, don't find it a faff with the side stand once you get used to it. Usually use a paddock stand for the rear as it's quicker.

Hi Trickymicky,
again, thanks for the advice; what a splendid bunch you are; restores faith in the human condition. Really like the bike too; I had a magnetic tank bag on the Blackbird- no use on the T tho'- seems like plenty of alternatives out there.
Next thing will be the map question; my T has a set of Arrow pipes, but I don't know that the map has been changed- no sign in the history that I can see; not good on fuel, but then I knew that.
Still, looking forward to enjoying this bike; it's a lulu

I'd imagine the map change has already been done if you get it serviced by an Ape dealer then he'll tell you then.

Poor fuel economy one of the downsides.Think the gen 1's are better than the gen 2's & if yours is a gen one you don't need to change maps just snip a wire located sopmewhere in the gubbins. tHERE'S A THREAD SOMEWHERE & NO DOUBT SOMEBODY WILL CHIP IN WITH THE SPECIFICS. aSH NO DOUBT HE'S NEVER FAR AWAY.
