It never gets hot enough in Alberta for the pavement to warm up enough to soften the tarmac.... Well, at least only oncet or twicet a year... Warning heeded! Sorry to here of such a ****** **** up.

Ditto here GIL.

I've heard of some guys carrying around a crushed up aluminium can for their sidestand, for this very reason.

There's also a Honda sidestand swapout somewhere around here, to fix this permanently.

Every time I take camping gear on the back its squeeky b time. The back almost swivles around. I've been looking for an 'extra' prop for a while now.

To be honest, I have never left her parked where there was an issue of her falling over. I've read of the infamous sidestand issue, but never experienced it (knock wood) myself.

It seems ironic that you guys in the UK have melting road surface at what seems to me to be very low temps. Our roads bake in tropical heat and stay firm - goes to show where cutbacks in quality are made. And I'm not saying our roads are good, for they're not (they're really ***** in fact), but at least they're not turning into sludge on a sunny day.

I know what you mean Shvl. I turn up to a group ride where all the bikes are parked with their tails in, front facing slightly downhill. I'm the only one parked the other way round. I have a small laugh to myself, for it's a small price to pay for the pleasure of owning a Tuono.

Bad luck bro. When ever I go on a trip I carry a tiny square bit of ply wood in my pack. I have also seen the crushed can approach many times. Glad your OK but I would imagine your wallet may take some time to recover...how about insurance?

squeeky b time. What is it with you and yer arse. Ya fud.

many years ago, (no camera phones) we had to unbolt my mates gixxer stand and leave it embedded in the tarmac. had to go back that night with tools to dig it out.

sidestand pucks ? magic..

I have several pucks littering the gravel of my driveway and a couple at the door in case I go out on a hot day. I just stuff one in a back pucket (get it??!! heehee) and go off for my ride.

Always got a bit of plastic card with me just in case it's a bit hot a sticky , not had problem with s/stand always give l/hand bar a good pull to settle bike down ?

Was at the scottish motorcycle show a few years back,,,,,,,,,,,strathcylde polis were handing out earplugs and assorted goodies.

Amongst the goodies was a 60mm dia plastic saucer wae their logo on it.

Works a treat but am fukked if I can find it. :no

I must have half a dozen of those plastic side stand plates littered about in the man cave , but always forget to take one out with me .
Got one under the seat tho and nearly always forget its there , and end up scratting round for a drinks can or a flat piece of wood . doh !!!:banghead

******* classic garry. Can just picture you & your mate with tools digging out the bike.
