Just a quickie guys to let you know what happened to me this morning:angry:angry
Got a slow puncture on my front wheel, so decided to take it to Carrick Yamaha, edinburgh (my nearest motorcycle delaer/workshop to my work) to ask them to remove the wheel, replace the valve and check the bead area was seating properly. Left it with them. 2 Hours later, got a call from them to say the wheel was ready and my bill was.......£66
I asked what the **** for and was told "the mechanic worked on it for an hour, he has done a temp repair as the bead is corroded and needs bead blasted and recoated".......SO YOU'VE DONE **** ALL TO IMPROVE IT THEN AND WANT £66:angry:angry
I will NEVER use this company again and wanted to let you know of the service i received. When I went to collect the wheel the guy behiond the counter said, and I quote!! "OUCH......bet you weren't expecting that this morning, you'll still need to get it properly powder coated to get a permanent fix"!!! Un-*******-believable.
Heres my letter of complaint....fuckers...
Good afternoon,
I am writing this email to express my disgust and anger at the price I have been charged today by one of your authorised dealers, Carrick Motorcycles, Edinburgh, EH6 7ET.
I took my loose front wheel in to their workshop as I had a slow puncture. I asked if they could remove the tyre to replace the valve and check the bead seating the tyre to the rim itself. They took the wheel and advised me they would call when it was ready.
Approximately two hours later I received the call to advise me that my wheel was ready and that my bill was £66.00 as the mechanic “had spent about an hour working on the wheel”. I was, understandably, completely shocked by this price. When I got to the workshop, I was met by a member of staff who brought me my bill and his exact words were “OUCH, bet you weren’t expecting that when you brought the wheel in”!!
Now, my anger stems from the fact that, even after they had the wheel for an hour, they have advised me that what they have done is only a temporary repair as the bead area needs bead blasted and recoated.......essentially they have charged my £66.00 for absolutely nothing as the wheel is in EXACTLY the same condition now as when they took it this morning.
I never once mentioned anything about “working on the wheel for an hour” and certainly would have expected a call from them when they had noticed the bead was corroded and not just went ahead and carried out work that was not authorised (nor did it actually make any difference to the condition of the wheel).
To make matters worse, I called a powder coating company who will take the same wheel, strip it, bead blast and powder coat it for £65.00......LESS THAN THEY CHARGED FOR DOING NOTHING!
I would dearly like a response to this email to explain how they can possibly justify this price and exactly what the mechanic was doing to the wheel for one hour that DIDN’T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE AT ALL TO THE CONDITION IT WAS HANDED OVER IN??????
I have never used this workshop, or any other Yamaha workshop for that matter and after this episode will never use your services again. I feel completely and totally ripped off today and will be taking this further should I not get a satisfactory response from yourselves. In today’s financial climate, I simply cannot afford to spend £66.00 for no reason whatsoever.
Yours,
Andi Galloway.
You have been warned.:angry:angry
