A word of insurance warning...

Just got my insurance through. All the paperwork stated model as Tuono V4R. Not a mention of APRC anywhere.

Concerned, I called the insurance company even though I'd stressed "APRC" during both the quotes and the payment stage.

APRC is a group 17, not 16 as the standard bike is. Cost me an extra £35 to insure it.

Insurer said had I not fessed up and something had happened to it I wouldn't have been covered.

Not a great situation. If you're in the same boat I'd suggest you confirm it.

yep same here.no mention of aprc on the ins doc that i got, told them what model it was and also the value, a cant understand why it a higher group as its ment to be the safer opption. a will check with them when i hear the bike has arrived at the dealers. Not heard nowt from them so am thinkin this weeks a no go.Cheers for the heads up.

Who'd go for all that electronic wizardry when they can't even sort out a ******* engine management warning light that won't go off.

Me, i would put a can on most of the bikes that i buy but have spent the can money on the electronic which i think will be more usefull and fun, hopefully there wont be any problems with it but who knows.

i get the same problem insureing my factory t they always put it down as tuono r and not a factory.lucky enough i was on the ball with this from day one but everytime they **** it up also they dont put my 3 points on either so i have to double check and double check again until it gets through there thick heads then they requote and the price goes up to much so i was off the road for a month trying to find a insurer where it showed all the correct details then printed it out

Jist a thought guys, wae all that electronic **** yer bike's are carrying, why nae ABS.

Last yr I had 2 problems with Bennets insurance they share the office with their car division so when my insurance came to me it was not in the usual bennets colours or on their paper so I phoned them only to be told that they had no record of my insurance with them so I told them about the insurance I had been sent out and when they checked, they found my bike was insured through their car division :rolleyes useless twats......they sorted it but when it came in again it was for the wrong bike model mines a zrx1200r and they did it as a zx12r I was wondering why the girl on the phone was saying that my bike was a group 17.......:eek so this yr I went back to ebike who I was with for a couple of yrs with a lesson learnt :banghead
