Hi, I am new to this forum, and propbably won't post much again, as I am here to warn fellow bikers about a lying, rude and almost criminal seller.
My friend has been after a new bike for a while, and found this Aprillia RSV Factory on Ebay classifieds:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200341964231&_trksid=p2759.l1259
It all looks very nice in the pictures, and when asked on the phone the guy said it was absoloutly mint, never been dropped and was a dream. On this information, me and my mate set off yesterday from Swindon, Wilts, to travel all the way upto Fife, in Scotland. A 1000 mile round trip to buy a bike!! (via blackpool to borrow a mates trailer). On arriving there, some 500 miles and 6 hours later, the guy met us and took us to his house to show us the bike.
On inspecting the bike, it turns out it is an absoloute dog, it has been thrown down the road hard at some point, as the left side of the swing arm has a huge chunk missing out of it, and a big dent of at least 3" across the side and top of it where the cans have hit it in the accident. Also, the frame has 3 large scratches on it where the fairings have ridden up in the crash, and the plastics have been badly repaired. The front air intake is held in with big blobs of glue gun glue, and all the fairing bolt holes show signs of being rippped open. The paint on the left hand side is very shabby, and the tank looks like it has been brush painted with dulex. There is also poor plastic repair on the underside of the headlight fairing, and a big crack under the lefthand headlight.
The guy is a lying sh*t, as he kept saying look at the bar end and clutch lever, they are fine, so it proves it has not been dropped. We all know how easy they are to replace, so it proves nothing. Also notice there are NO pictures of the left side of the bike
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS JOKER, WE WASTED A WHOLE DAY AND 1000 MILES, AND HE COULDN'T EVEN TELL US THE TRUTH!!! HE IS CALLED SIMON AND IS A LYING DECEITFUL RUDE TIMEWASTER...
please do not delete this thread, it is here to help genuine bikers avoid a con-man.
