A Warning for fellow bikers

Hi, I am new to this forum, and propbably won't post much again, as I am here to warn fellow bikers about a lying, rude and almost criminal seller.

My friend has been after a new bike for a while, and found this Aprillia RSV Factory on Ebay classifieds:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200341964231&_trksid=p2759.l1259

It all looks very nice in the pictures, and when asked on the phone the guy said it was absoloutly mint, never been dropped and was a dream. On this information, me and my mate set off yesterday from Swindon, Wilts, to travel all the way upto Fife, in Scotland. A 1000 mile round trip to buy a bike!! (via blackpool to borrow a mates trailer). On arriving there, some 500 miles and 6 hours later, the guy met us and took us to his house to show us the bike.

On inspecting the bike, it turns out it is an absoloute dog, it has been thrown down the road hard at some point, as the left side of the swing arm has a huge chunk missing out of it, and a big dent of at least 3" across the side and top of it where the cans have hit it in the accident. Also, the frame has 3 large scratches on it where the fairings have ridden up in the crash, and the plastics have been badly repaired. The front air intake is held in with big blobs of glue gun glue, and all the fairing bolt holes show signs of being rippped open. The paint on the left hand side is very shabby, and the tank looks like it has been brush painted with dulex. There is also poor plastic repair on the underside of the headlight fairing, and a big crack under the lefthand headlight.

The guy is a lying sh*t, as he kept saying look at the bar end and clutch lever, they are fine, so it proves it has not been dropped. We all know how easy they are to replace, so it proves nothing. Also notice there are NO pictures of the left side of the bike

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS JOKER, WE WASTED A WHOLE DAY AND 1000 MILES, AND HE COULDN'T EVEN TELL US THE TRUTH!!! HE IS CALLED SIMON AND IS A LYING DECEITFUL RUDE TIMEWASTER...

please do not delete this thread, it is here to help genuine bikers avoid a con-man.

Safe riding!

Thanks for the heads up mate, this guy is the lowest of the low allowing you to travel all that way knowing the bike wasn't as it was advertised. What a bas***d!

Had the same experience when I drove 300 mile round trip to find a dog of a bike nothing like the ad:jack
There are to many out there unfortunately it makes it bad for the genuine sellers out there.
The trouble is if it is on E bay you cant leave bad feedback because you have not purchased it so the culprit gets off scot free:rant

What a w:jacker.

I just asked him if he has any photo's of the left hand side :biggrin let's see what he says :eatcorn

lol i just asked if he has any pics of left hand side and if there is any damage he should make me aware of as i have to travel 500 miles to view :jack

I would have been steaming, should have dropped him and say he hasn't been dropped either!

He left his mobby number, surely something could be done wiv that?
07703399229 :thumbup

I think we should wind the c**t up. You know, calls in the early hours pretending to be a bird he's knocking off, that type of thing. Let's get our heads together and hatch a plan :thumbup. I figure he owes that poor guy about 200 in fuel.

Why do people do this? They know anyone viewing the bike will see the damage :dunno Bloody shame for all the good guys out there wanting to sell their bike - :jack

I've just sent him this, see what comes back. I think we should f*ck up his sale somehow, any ideas?

Could you please send me more photos, particularly the left hand side as there don't appear to be any. I need to be sure it is 'mint' as there are a lot of timewasters out there that don't describe things truthfully. Has it any damage at all, scratches, marks, repaired areas? Thanks

Whats a ****! why let you got all that way for a bag of *****! surely he would have done better to say well I havent dropped it but it does have a couple of signs of crash damage and heres the pics, still want to come and look?

F*ckin tw*t.
I just contacted him through ebay here's what I've said:
Hi really interested in the bike, I stay in Glasgow so I'm only 55 miles away and would like to view your RSV.
Could you send me some pictures of the other side of the bike please, also when would be a good time to view the bike?
Would you take £4800 I have the cash ready?

I think we should all send messages to f*ck his listing right up.

Total Chancer...BUT let's not be too hasty as there are some VERY genuine people out there...I know I've been caught out a couple of times selling stuff I didn't check out thoroughly & I've been more than happy to refund or offer a reduction due to my screw up. However there are always gonna be some people who attempt to sell crap, cheers for the heads up & I really hope you find a good, honest bike soon!

Well, just to test him, I sent him a message from my girlfriends Ebay account, and guess the response I got to my questions..... I think this shows you if he is genuine or not, bearing in mind that we showed him all the damage!!! -screen print to show its not been photoshopped by anyone!
