Had a **** day today, on the way to work i could here a noise from the engine in my vivaro van, it was going up and down with the revs so took it easy to the job. stoped the van popped the bonnet had a look couldnt find anything wrong. finished the day packed up about 4.15 got about a mile down the road oil light came on with the spaner symbol, stoped checked the oil it was on the minimum. got back in the van went about 200 yards loads of smoke out of the exhaust pulled over switched the ignition off the engine kept going and reving harder had to stall it to stop it. rang the AA they came in about 25 min good i thought but it was a van not a low loader as i asked for, then another wait for the low loader it took 3.45 min to get home instead of 20 min. **** happens but at the moment it always happens to me rant over.

van sounds shot.

crankcase pressure builds up forcing remaining oil into combustion, i think ?

but then i,m no mechanic... maybe its just out of tax.

Bad luck fella. I hope it's not too expensive.

Look on the bright side, at least the Factory is OK.

your turbo has gone, the bearings collapse and oil leaks thru ,making the engine rev and rev . if you hadnt managed to stall it it would have revved til it exploded
my mates renault did it and aparently its common
rule number 1 dont buy french **** vans ! buy german instead

and oil leaks thru

see, i knew i was on the right track.......................................................................................................................... ish

cheers c

Not quite sure how your gonna get the mixer on the factory mate, good luck with it :thumbup

So far 2012 has been a bit of an annus horribillius. no sun for a month now. Only been out twice since beginning of April got wet through both occasions & stopped 4 times by the feds, £60.00 fine for number plate & who knows what's install for the speeding. Got two of the pulls on video just don't know how to edit the footage.

my renault espace engine has just **** itself as well, MRS driving it home, exhaust got loud and loss of power oil light on, engine reving up uncontrollable, damage is turbo shafted, oil pump gone and bottom end/crank ******, now looking for another car, bummer

CTD could do you a good deal on a vivaro van, get all the family in it no prob special price for you.

the espace has gone for scrap, a whole £120, well pissed, im hoping the next motor will come with a working engine

WTF do i know ash, its got a turbo, and yes you got it just like charley said sorry pal i was wrong you was right. on the back of the van it says cdi not tdi so i put 2 and 2 together and came up with 10 like i said **** happens.
