Alan (AMB67), gave up most of his day today (he is supposed to be on holiday from work !!!) in order that Frankie be revived.

Blessed with his , skills, calm temprement and knowledge, Frankie has been brought back to life :doug

I am still as nervous as hell over how long the repairs will last and guess only time will tell :dunno

But I think Alan was happy with the outcome so that gives me some confidence for the future :biggrin

So Alan mate ...THANKYOU very very much :thumbup

Ps Tim you are right ...thankfully you taught Alan all he knows otherwise we would have been in a right muddle :devious

Scott, no problems at all mate, was a very good outcome.

I wouldn't have put my name to it if I wasn't 100% happy that what we did would last the course.

By the way Tim, we forgot to take the lens cap off the camera and they all came out black.

Least we forget the parts donated by Griff, a true gent for helping Scott in his our of need. I look forward to meeting you when you visit the south east, first beers on me!!

Now for the next mission - Tims' bloody valve clearances!!

Tim if they need adjusting and I have to stay in France for any longer than 2 days then I want the finest steaks money can buy washed down with a fine Merlot every evening. LOL

The Tuono that had similar surgery is still going strong and that was 3-4 months ago so i think you will be ok chap.

Just don't go touring round Europe till you have put a few miles on it just in case. :devious

Much better outcome than ebay as a non runner me thinks. well done Amb etc.:thumbup

The fuss was all about the flywheel bolt shrearing off and the flywheel coming loose and wobbling around on the crank...............wrote the flywheel off and damaged the end of the crank.
This happened 40minutes after the sprag gear had all been replaced.

Scott, the only way that flywheel is coming off now is with a gas axe.

Forget was has happened and concentrate on what lays ahead - an open road.

Ride it like it's stolen! Whoooooo!

I think Tim's trying to get the whole forum across to France mate, your welcome to tag along, Tim has a big garden so plenty of room for tents.

does this include a free valve check :lol

Yeah, by Tim after a few glasses of Vino. LOL

Checking them is an easy task that anyone can complete really, adjusting them is a task that should only be performed by skilled technicians.

sod that :) that means getting dirty. just reading my service book and it says it was done last service so can forget about that job for ever :) :lol
