600 odd miles in 3 days

I went for a trip over the weekend to West Yorkshire, went to see some old friends and some family etc up there, decided to take the Mille, from London to Bradford, its around 225miles journey, got there in 3 hours, only needed to fill up once, and to my complete shock, it did 150 miles before hitting reserve, I couldn't believe it, and I was hammering it averaging 100-120. Thats the best mileage its ever done.

I took some extra 4T engine oil with me, didn't need it. Also on saturday we had some heavy rain, and I was suppose to be keeping the bike in the garage but was too lazy. next day bike didn't want to start, I tried and tried until the battery went flat, got a hair dryer out, wd40 over all electrics/ht leads, and jump started from my friends zx6r no problem.

The rest of the time there was absolutely no problems with the bike, it was spot on all the way.

heres a few pictures of one of our ride outs through the yorkshire dales:

did you get a cable car up that mountain lol. the other bikes look mint too.
150 miles before reserve is what I used to get on my zx9. dont know yet on my 99 mille, running the first tank at the moment.
Your mille looks lovely and tidy :)

Wow, great pics and scenary, and some sun too!!! Are you sure you didn't go abroad? :grinning Wish I could do 600 miles in 3 days as I'm currently running in my '08 RSVR and it's a bloody nightmare finding the time and/or the weather to stick more than 50 or 60 miles on mine at a time. Oh well, only 175 to go 'til the first service.

Incidentally have you had any other issues with the Mille not starting before or was it a one off as it got damp/wet?

:thumbup some top piccys there mate .......... respect.

Some fantastic biking weather lately ....... :doug and some more to come this weekend.

Great pics and some great roads no doubt, nice weather this weekend ?? best put the bike back together then

i wish i got 150 miles i only get 90 then light is on nice pics mate did you have fun

If you fill them right up to the brim and cruise at high speeds with little throttle movements its surprising how little fuel they use.
greet bikes for long distance and comfy too..then when you hit the twisites its.... yeehaaawwww.Nice mille BTW(just like mine b4 its carbonisation)
Ck

Thanks for the comments,

we climbed the cliff by foot actually! the bike use to start fine, once it got wet it wasn't having it, so far that seems to be the only thing wrong with my mille, but I guess italian bike made for italian weather....

Them roads are up near shipley, that blind crest was quite cool, tried to get some pictures of the mille going airborn coming up there, but my mate couldn't get the timing right and I didn't want to keep doing it as it had to get me home yet!

Oh and them 208RR's are so **** I wouldn't dare use them again, only left them on as they were gonna square up with all the motorway miles.
