57mm Throttle Bodies

Has anyone on this forum put 57mm Throttle Bodies on a Pre-2001 Mille?

I have picked up a set of 57mm Throttle Bodies complete with Velocity Stacks and Airbox off an 03 Edwards Rep. I am going to put them on my 2000 RSVR but feel that with the smaller valves on the pre 2001 bikes it might be a bit "overfueled" with 57mm Throttle Bodies.

Has anyone done this mod? If so what other engine mods did you do, '03 Heads or Oversize Valves? What power gain did you get?

Any thoughts gratefully appreciated

I don't know about engine mods but my understanding is that you will need to replace the fuel pressure regulator with an adjustable one. Keep us posted Chris as I'm sure a lot of RSV owners are curious about this mod.

yeah me too, Thats my next planned mod to go in conjunction with the early airboot, evo air kit, edwards tubes, velocity stacks, Akra evo system and PC111.
I have heard of this mod too, someone one one of the other forums has done it, you would have to do a topic search. I agree with sav about the fuel regulator etc, if you have a PC111 I would think a custom map would sort your fueling issues

My mille currently has a PC111 with Full Arrow System and Evo Airbox Mod, that gives 120 RWBHP. Hoping that the 57's and head mods will get it nearer 130.

Also considering the 100mm Pistons, any comments on these?

I found this place near me in Leiston who have large valves & hot cams for Aprilias, I am thinking of asking them what they can do, have any of you used them?

If you're considering 100mm pistons then I would also be looking at other mods while you have the engine dissasembled. I would consider the 38mm intake valves off the '03 as well as the '03 intake cams. Blueprinting would also be ideal Anything you can take as an upgrade from the '03, last gen old shape, and apply to your '00 would be an improvement in my opinion.

wow, the pistons sound interesting. RSVchris mate, I notice you have a carbon fetish also!! ha ha at leat I'm not the only one.
My mods are simmiliar to yours and I got 126.4 bhp./75.09 ft-lbs torque(65mm Akra full system tho)Like you I would like to 'breathe upon the engine too' let us all know how it pans out matey.
