57mm throttle bodies - silly question

O

OZMILLE

Hey guys

Have just fitted some 57mm throttle bodies supplied by Alain.

Also seen the good HP gain they provide, have a question though.

What is it about the larger throttle bodies that makes the HP,

1. Larger intake for air, more air = more HP

2. Bigger injectors etc

3. Something else perhaps

Would love to know ust for the sake of knowing if you have any answers??

Cheers Pete

In the simplest of terms:

Hey guys

Also seen the good HP gain they provide, have a question though.

What is it about the larger throttle bodies that makes the HP,

1. Larger intake for air, more air = more HP - It's all about volume, as you quite rightly state more air = more HP.

2. Bigger injectors etc - Not so in all cases - it's more to do with the spray pattern and the level at which the injector atomises the fuel. Basically the better the fuel is atomised the easier it will mix with the air which in turn creates a better burn which gives you more power due to efficiency.

3. Something else perhaps - could well be aliens involved, well there would be if the americans had been involved in the design. :devious

Would love to know ust for the sake of knowing if you have any answers??

Even with the old denso injectors in you still gain so it must be the bigger throughput of air.
The adjusted eprom compensates by injecting more fuel.
