did ya fit them yaself?

Exhaust header mod
Gabro or dr rossi chip

I'm really interested in this mod, was it easy to do/set up?

I suppose once you've got the power up to the 130bhp mark then it's a question of making it lighter. I'd love to know the most effective way of making the old bus lighter!

I have just bought some 57s got 54s at the moment, the bike also has akra 2-2 race system open air box and Dr Rossi chip dynoed at 124, I am also in the process of getting 1060 big bore kit. As for loosing weight carbon fiber is the way to go, I have just set up a company supplying motorcycle performance parts and am the official importer for a Chech company who do carbon fairings and race fairings, in the next 4 weeks my bike will be clad from head to toe in carbon cant wait. We will do good discounts for forum members, if you are interested PM me and see what we can do.:thumbup

Not sure if I could justify the cost for carbon...

Carbon bodywork may only save 1.5-2kg over the original stuff but cost well into 4 figures.

I'd be interested to know prices though.

It's not as expensive as you think I can do you a full 2 piece fairing with carbon race air ducts for £800 delivered.

That's not bad money, but (and you're going to hate me asking this) how much weight does it save?

It sounds like this is a track two piece fairing (no cutouts for headlamp etc) so the killer question is how much weight will it save over:

a) Standard road bodywork?
b) Fibreglass fairing?

It all depends how are the fairings made, what kind of cloth is used and how much of everything is used to make a piece. And this also affects how hard the fairings are.

Carbon cloth is realy not that expensive, the problem is that its hard to make it perfect.

With fibre glass its easier since its normaly painted and all the mistakes are covered, carbon usualy isnt, so the mould realy has to be perfect.

I love buying new stuff for my bike (and miself for that matter :D) and tunning it, but the real diference is still in the rider.
If you want your bike to look good than go for it, if you want it to go fast, get experience, do trackdays and work on yourself :D, the bike will feel alot easyer and you will fly :)

We can also do this as the standard format as in 3 upper pieces plus air ducts with cutouts this is £70 extra, as for weight I will be able to tell you when I do mine. There are 2 guys on here with full carbon inc wheels and they are 175kg wet down from about 208kg standard.:thumbup

Can you make just the airducts?

Been looking this for a while, found one, but its kinda expensive, doesnt even have to be carbon :)

Hi Dolenc we can do a pair of ducts for about £150 plus p&p if you are interested pm me.

Tash, any chance you can put your full price list of all the carbon bits for mille's on here...people are too afraid to ask as it always seems expensive

Work on yourself? Hope you're not telling me to get into the gym??!!

Sure, I realise the rider will always be key to going fast and improvement but I would love to knock a few kg's off the bike if I could.

Straight away you get better braking, acceleration and handling! Another 10hp wouldn't go amiss either, but perhaps I'm just greedy?

With work on yourself I meant improve your riding skills. Well the going to the gim never hurts :D

I do agree that having a better bike helps and I also like some upgrades on myne, but what I was trying to say was that mille is a fast bike from stock, you can gain a second or two with modding, you can get 10-15s or more with improving your riding :)

Last time on the track I passed a Ktm rc8 on the straight :D, but still some 600cc bikes can get out of the turn flying past me, so its still most in the rider.

passed a rc8 on the straight!:lol
obviously the guy on the rc8 was a ****** all down to the rider mate as you said!

No, he wasnt the slowest one :)(no the fastest one either), but it counts more how fast you get on the straight.

For example, I get arround 210-220kmh at the end, a friend of myne on a factory gets 265kmh :eek:mg, so I asked him how is that posible, his bike is not that stronger, he just told me, that he has more speed at the beggining of the straight than I at the end :D

might of been my boss you overtook... lol... he had a RC8 for 8 weeks... did 2 track days... but got fed up with it cos it kept going into 'get you home' mode limited to 50mph cause it had fueling software issues & the dealer didnt have a cure for it back then... from work in Chelsea to his house in Farningham took forever @ 50mph !! :biggrin

he traded it in for a 1098... but now looking for the BMW K1200R... he changes his bikes maximum once a year... lol !! :roll
