hi guys, just bought a 56 plate mille R

I just wanna know if there are any big do's and donts ... any common faults i should be keeping an eye on or anything like that.

any help is massively appreciated

cheers in advance people !!

Brown connector on the stator can melt....bypass
White connector under the tail unit can melt.....bypass
Stators tend to burn out.....changing the Rec/reg to a Mosfet type found on the newer R1's may help....still finding that one out
Rear brake needs to be bled correctly or will be crap
Some suffer from having to bleed the clutch now and again....i fitted an MPL slave cylinder and its fine

think there the main ones lol

nice one fella !!

by bypass ... you mean solder in new lengths of wire instead of the connector block yeah ??

yeah ... Just cut off the connector and crimp or solder together .... or crimp and add solder to the crimp ... that's what I did .... and insulate with heat shrink or tape

Stunning cheers chap!!

also do you guys know the service routine ?? she has just hit 11000 miles ... is there anything i should ask about being checked out ... cam cahin tensioners orrrrrr valve clearences orrr anything really

sorry for being a nube ... will be up to speed soon !!

hi mate i found that my mille 2005 was awfull when riding through towns or going round roundabouts. it wanted to either konk out or spit me off....... no inbetween. i thought at this point i had made a mistake buying a twin! took it to my local aprilia bloke and he changed the mapping and tinkered with the throttel body.

sweet as a nut now, loads more confidence and loving it bro!

Cracking, cheers for the info people!! Pick her up on Friday so I guess I will find out how she behaves then :D
