Sitting next to a guy who has got his in for first service already, he paid deposit on may 28th, picked It up last sat. Must be the first one on the road.

Non APRC models and a few black ones have been available for a week or so now. The dealer I'm gettig my yellow one from has had 2 standard black ones in stock for a week. They're turning up slowly. Black was always going to be first. It's the yellows they have produced late due to demand.

Test ride.

I took the new V4R for a test ride last weekend and I have to say it is an awesome bike. I am 6'5" and bought my 06 Tuono Gen 2 because I needed a bigger bike. The new one, although smaller is actually more comfortable, the peg position seems to give my big legs a bit more room.

Add to that it is very fast, totally planted and the quick shifter is great fun I decided to PX the old one and treat myself to the new model.

A few phone calls to my insurance company later and the deal is off, no insurance company would even give me a quote.

I am a 35 yr old, married homeowner with 3 years NCB and yet, due to my postcode and the value of the bike I cannot get insurance.

Sorry Aprilia, I wanted that bike but due to the high rates of motorcycle theft in London you've missed out on a sale.

Bloody hell, I'm 36 with 7 years ncb and I've just paid £234 fc with protected no claims for my V4R APRC insurance.

Incidently, without a Cat 1 alarm system the quote was £250 more. That's a massive difference as most alarms only get you a £20-30 discount.

Did you try and get a quote with an alarm fitted?

Hi Moz,

I'm guessing you don't live in Central London? I don't have a garage either which doesn't help matters although the bike is kept on a private driveway.

I asked for the quote with the factory immobiliser but not an alarm but I doubt it will make much difference to the insurance companies. To satisfy my curiosity I searched for quotes with a Cat 1 alarm, the cheapest is a ridiculous £2200.

My main problem is my post code and lack of garage.

I feel sorry for you, it must be a real worry living in fear of thieving twats on every corner.

I got a quote for 350 yesterday which i thout was ok untill i sore moz,s. What company are you dealin with Moz

That was through H&R in Aberdeen dude. Their online quote was cheaper than their phone quote but they matched it. It would have been £194 without legal cover.
