The 2010 AMA Pro Road Racing schedule is out, and currently the series has only 9 races scheduled, with a 10 race hopefully to be added to the schedule. Noticiably missing from the schedule are stops at both Laguna Seca and Miller Motorsports Park. The schedule also is missing a stop at Topeka, which was boycotted, due to safety concerns, by Mat Mladin and Jamie Hacking.

It certainly has been a rough season for AMA racing, and it looks like the 2010 season is already off to a shaky start. With only one more race to be added to the schedule, it is unclear if Seca or Miller will get the nod (we feel safe in saying Topeka is out of contention). Since both circuits provide excellent racing, the absence either coruse will certainly affect the perception of AMA racing. Still fighting the good fight though was*AMA Pro President, Roger Edmondson, who put a positive spin on the situation.

“It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the continuation of a great partnership with SPEED. Their commitment to the growth of our sport and their unique ability to capture the excitement that the athletes and machines of our sport put on display every race weekend made continuing our relationship an easy decision. With our broadcast partner in place and our schedule visiting the best venues in the United States, we expect 2010 to be a great year and look forward to kicking off the season in Daytona.”
