My bike came with a sensor for traction control. The instructions are pants though. In italian and a very poor translation into english. The black and white pics are terrible too. The sensor comes with a clamp which is fitted to the fork foot using the two front axle bolts. This is a typical sensor measuring the speed at which the legs of the brake disc pass by. I can not work out where the damned thing plugs in though. The picture show it going in the approximate direction of the speedo but does not tell you whether to remove the whole display to plug it in or whether it plugs into something in the plastic bridge between the frame and the speedo which contains part of the main wiring loom.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes i got one of them but i dont think it's as simple as plug and play i think the ecu needs reprogramming, so i have left it in the box with the rear pegs and pillion seat

I did actually try to fit it but I just can't figure out where it plugs in! Any ideas? I'd like to give it a try. I'll be asking the dealership to see if they have any ideas about the ECU. It does say 'for Superstock' use on the instructions which tells me it can't be that big a deal to do.

I picked mine up yesterday and my dealer (who was pretty clued up) told me that aprilia included the traction control sensor to allow them to include it at a later date....i.e. it wont work on the bike now but when/if they develop the system you will be able to plug it in (no idea where) and get your ecu updated and, hey presto, traction control....
