Hey guys.

Went out on my bike sunday night and met some of the lads at local petrol station. Turned bike off for about 20mins, then tried to restart but just got blacked out clocks and a ticking solenoid. Managed to bump start it and got a volt reading of 11.5 volts and bike ran like a pig. Managed to limp it home and put battery on charge, after about 4 hours I put battery back on, fired it up, and volt reading was 14.4 volts which is about rite. Went to work in car next day, then fired it up again once home. Volts were now down to 12.5 and dropped off a little when revving. Put battery back on charge for a couple of hours but made no difference. Battery is holding 12volts, but starting has been labour'd for last few weeks and sometimes blacked clocks out before starting. Think the battery has been on its way out for some time now, but even if the battery is kaput shouldnt I still get 14.4 volt reading on terminals while motor is running? Been told by others it probably is the battery, but Im concerned its a charging fault and was wondering if anyone on here has had same thing happen, or if charge failure is a common fault on gen2 Tuono's?

Any help or info would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

Harry

its polite to introduce yourself first mate tends to get you a bit further

r+r and maybe a battery and a stator also. not sure if the gen2 suffer the same as gen1 with sprag and solenoid ??

On a 2007 bike?
Yes it is,...probably be the alternater stator and/or the brown connectors.

Pull brown connector apart, put a meter across the yellows (They're ALL yellow btw) Set meter for VAC
So...Y1-Y2, Y1-Y3, Y2-Y3.
Should be getting iro 60v a/c across all three.
If you're not, your stator is goosed.
Easy enought to fix if you've got a few tools and a reasonable amount of nouse.
Budget £140 ish?

Welcome Harry.....**** intro btw.

Thanks for your help guys, I really do appreciate it. Sorry if I've offended everyone by not using correct forum etiquette. I've never used one before. Will do that wiring check tomorrow Tifa, thank you very much.

Hi all.. I've got an 07 plate which has done me proud for the last 10k but today I think the stator died!
Only reading 11.5 v on dash and when fan cuts in on tick over the bike stalls..
Is it a simple swap for a 380w stator rather than the 500w?
Where or how can I fix for £140 Tifa?
Any help much appreciated....
