I'm having problems with my 2007 Tuono. Fitted a new generator last april and less than 1k later Burnt out . Anyone know of a fix ( Heavier copper rewind) Has anyone experienced this with their Tuono ?

According to Griff Wooley At Aprillia Performance West Country Windings Have made an attempt at My Generator but i has failed! I am being told 3 companies have tried to rewind and none of them has worked. Bit of a saga Now

Some bikes were fitted with a magneto with extra strong magnets that burn out the windings.

The best method would be to get a magneto flywheel that isn't faulty, it's a shame piaggio didn't stump up for a recall of gen 2 bikes that suffer from a manufacturing error. (Aprilia died in 2004 when piaggio bought them out, Ivan Beggio (owner) wouldnt have let this happen to aprilia.
Find a gen2 flywheel and windings, or buy a later engine with all the bits for spares (I have a gen 1 engine as a paperweight)
