2007 RSVR running rough?

Well new to the Aprilia and love the bike, but in town pulling away just seems the fuelling is a little rough about 4-5k revs. Past that runs like a rocket, whole bike standard so not been messed with and only 9900 miles.
Is this how they are, or could it be the fuel mapping.

Hi
It should be on map 1 if it's standard and should run smoothly all the way through the revs. Mine is a little fluffy below 3 k but that only happened once I put arrows on. With cored cans and map2 it was super smooth

Maybe it's just me not being used to a Vtwin, had a 2002 R1 which at this time I have to say was quicker. The bike pulls away smooth but only thing I can describe is that at the 4-5k mark it almost feels like your running on choke.

Maybe check the air filter is new and all the inlet is correctly fitted

I'd second that. It should definitely not feel like that.... Inline fours I've had in the past felt quicker than the RSVR but not as grunty. It should be pulling like a train at 5 k. Might be worth checking the plugs and fuel lines as well hope this helps.

Sounds like it wants a service, co's setting etc from the the chap for all things aprilia Griff, aka aprilia performance, they can work wonders.

Thanks I will check the filter today as that's pretty easy and quick, only had the bike just over a month and was given a full service before collection. It has only done 1800 miles in last 4 years, so made sure all service items were changed.

were they an aprilia dealer ..did they have the right tools to adjust the co levels and balance the throttle bodies as thats an important part of the service.

call Griff at aprilia performance ..either travel to him in Tamworth ( its worth it !!!) or see if he has any trips arranged down to you as i'm sure there was a service day arranged to newbury soon

update::: here you go 28th March..you'll need to book it in with Griff or the team at aprilia performance the guy hosting it Nooj runs his own bike valeting business so you can indulge in a spruce up as well if you fancy it

Hi, thanks for the replies on here. Just an update, the air filter was not seated fully and throttle cable needed adjusting. So a little bit of fettling and a good ride this afternoon seems to be good as gold now.
