2006 RSV Brakes Question?

Sold the Mille & bought a Tuono, the moding starts
A Mate of mine who owns a 2006 RSV has asked Me if i think he should upgrade his Front Brake Calipers to Brembo Items? Now he is a fast road rider but doesnt take his bike on track.

So, is it worth the Money to buy Brembos, & are they a straight swap? or should he stick with the OE Calipers & get just buy HH Pads & braided hoses etc?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Jamie.

have i missed something here ?

dont it have brembo's already?

fit top grade pads like the new gen ebc's or sbs sinter as there spot on

Satchel man my bad shows how much attention I pay to the thing, brembo's and braded hoses already on it! the rear one is absalutly awful!! But suppose it doesn't really matter due to the engine braking. P.s signed up as ordered!

hi bud

what's up with the rear ?

is it just week or is it full of air ?

if the pedal is solid so bled well try dragging the rear brake a little to get some heat into it, or take the pads out and clean and scuff them and try again.

if its still crap and its not seized etc then fit new pads but dont skimp (no pun you being scotish) so fit ebc's sbs HH sinter pads etc.

if you have **** cheap pads like goldfren HH or kevlar GG pads (made from trees ) they will never be any good ,

if he needs better brakes he better sign up for bsb!!!!!!

aprilia brakes are plenty good enough just buy some decent pads

Rear brakes...some can be bled, others can't, and for the ones that can't no amount of bleeding will fix it. If you are unlucky enough to get an unbleedable one, start saving for some rearsets that relocate the m/c off the motor. It's the only permanent fix.

Cheers guy's,

Think it must be the pad's as it's not seizing or anything just quite weak, I'll hit ebay and see whats on the go.

if it has to be the pricy stuff I'll still be looking for a bargan! (there's a recession don't ya know lonner ;-)

Cheers frankie.

if he still thinks theyre **** when hes done that... he could get a brembo racing radial brake pump, that will certainly improve things, 230 odd new and cheaper on bay of fleas, it made a deffo difference to my 02, though they are good to begin with..mebbe his discs are worn out?
I used to love that hiss you got when braking on the mille

Ha Ha Ha You Nutcase, thats what You get for leaving Your Bike at work over the Winter. Lol :devious

New Pads sound like a ploy Mate, & as we discussed before a full Service/ Suspension Set Up. That'll get the beast singing.....

p.s. Glad You've signed up to the Zone at last, told You they are a helpful bunch here :cheers
