Hi all,I have bought another RSVR after a brief affair with a 08 R1(I know,I know!)I picjked the bike up last night and I have a few questions.
Mine is the 2005 UK model in red and black(non factory) same colour as this http://images.google.ie/imgres?imgu...W1RNTN_en&sa=N&um=1&ei=pR8VS-DSC5PVjAfpn6zWBg

Mine doesn't have radial brakes (or forks),I know the 04 non factory didn't have radials but I thought 05 did,so question is was in crashed and forks replaced with a 04 model or were there a few early 05 bikes without?:dunnonow the bike came very cheap so I'm not overly bothered if the front end has been changed but I do want to know what I'm dealing with, cheers.

If the indicator lenses are clear it's probably an 05, if there coloured its an 04. the 04 didnt have radial brakes. Go on to my profile and have a lookm at my bike. If its exactly the same its an 04. Mine doesnt have radial brakes, still bloody good brakes though!

If you look at the link I posted,on the top left hand corner of that page is the colour of my bike,it has the clear indicator lens.asaik it's defo a 05 model, just wondering if maybe the early 05 model were non radial like the 04.Apart from that the bike doesn't show any signs of been in an accident,no marks on the frame or swingarm,a few scuffs on the fairings but nothing major

That answers the question so,the front end must have been swapped with a 04 model for whatever reason,it also has a red front mudgaurd which isn't usual for that year

Unless it's an 04 model bike with 05 bodywork and 04 mudguard. You can contact an aprilia dealer who will check the frame number

It must have been a complete front end as the Radial setup requires a wider wheel at the hub which would not suit the standard calipers.
