Howdy guys :)

First post here :thumbup

My brother went out today and bought himself a nice 2004 Aprilia RSV-R Mille in red and grey.

This is my brothers first v-twin bike and were wondering what we have let ourselves in for with the Mille as were struggling to find reviews and data on the 2004 model.

Does anyone know that the 04's strengths and weaknesses are ? and also any performance data on the 04 model ? as hes seen somewhere they have a top speed of 151mph ? I am sure its much more than that though.

Finally I have a 2000 Yamaha R1, how does the Aprilia compare with the R1 in terms of performance and handling etc.

We got 3 days of rain now so we cant get out for a run together but were so lookin forward to it.

Can anyone enlighten me to life with a mille ? is there anything you should / shouldnt do etc ?

Cheers guys.

Your looking at about 130 hp at the rear wheels with slip ons, PC3 and MAP 2...

Strengths...It's Italien, it has killer torque, great handling, incredible looks, sounds bad ***....

Weakness...It's Italien, it is hot, brown connectors will melt and lead to electrical issues, the clutch needs bled every 6 months, the rear brake needs a lot of attention just to get it to work..

Once you go V-twin, there is no going back...

HELLO i sold my 98 R1 after riding my mates honda sp and falling in love with the twins,it wont compare to your r1 on top speed but you will have a lot more fun on the rsvr
they are no longer called mille on the 04 they are now known as "are ess vee ares"
by the way did you know that the red/silver are realy the fastest (forum joke)

It is a joke, everyone knows the black ones are faster :biggrin:biggrin

hello and welcome, i have no usefull information whatsoever, just wanted to say hello and i hope when you do manage to get out for a ride you come back with a grin on yer face...oh yes and i can confirm that the red/silver are the quickest, more so than the Black or White/Gold race rep...:biggrin:thumbup:biggrin Enjoy...

no carpe diem and davesoimtold you have not learned anything :whipping , i have told you many times a white and gold race rep mille is fastest also the best handaling :thumbup:eatcorn

im sorry for being off topic mattTHEMAN basically i would say the rsv milles handaling will be far better your r1s , speed means nothing people think that the mille is slower it is about 3mph difference in top speed , the milles have lots of torque where as the japs have higher bhp but with torque you should be quicker out of bends and have quicker acceleraton ..... basically milles are about soul and character you dont reallya get this with a jap bike :huh
ask anyone on this forum if they would go back to an inline for 99% of them answears would be no ..... so they cant be bad lol

ohh yeah we basically know f$%& all about specs

but rsvr47 knows how to open a bottle of becks with a spoon :biggrin
