im on the look out for a factory edition bike and will be looking aroung 2004-2005 with the money i have got to spend.

I am just wondering what things i should be keeping an eye open for and what sort of things are prone to going wrong with them??

and can anyone tell me what the difference between an rsv1000r factory and an rsv1000 millie factory??

check they have had the recall for the updated swingarm for all 04 and some 05 models.
If it's 04 make sure the mileage is backed up by service history as early 04 bikes had resetting mileometers so can be higher than the clocks indicate.

have a quick check for weeping ohlins seals on the forks and run the bike and look at the voltage on the dash at idle. It should be over 13 volts and ideally well into the 13's.
If it's not there is a wiring issue which whilst not really a deal breaker knock some money off.

Also make sure the engine spins normally when you hiyt the starter and makes no clunks or screeches whilst the starter is turning.

engine itself is very very tough so little goes wrong internally.

There is only 1 RSV factory model. The other spec is the RSVR (no ohlins, less Carbon, different wheels.)

Pre 04 the rsvr used to be the top model but after 04 it was called the rsv factory and the base model became the rsvr

Mine might be for sale for right price, Just over 5000 miles, full history, best colour (silver), 06 plate, but 05 model. Serviced not long ago, fork seals done approx 500 miles ago, full crash bungs, headlight protectors, just taxed, recent new tyres, (ackropovic cans optional extra), meta alarm, swing arm recall not needed, or already done.
Have a look, make me an offer, :eatcorn
