2000 model v 2001 model ?

D

deano

hey guys what really is the difference between the 2 versions ??

i have seen that the 2001 model looks slightly different and said to have more power but what really are the differences ???

reason i ask is i was after a 2001 model but they keep selling and have seen some nice 200 versions and wondered if its worth holding out for one ??

Power difference on the road is nothing major ( if noticable for mortals) so if you find a clean 2000.............go for it (i did and love it!!)

well i just found what i think is a nice condition 2000 model in yellow in alice graphics (not a clue who alice is lol) done 14k with a remus exhaust on..

hpi'd it all good so going back tomorrow to collect it....

nice looking machine mate. The Remus cans are no good on the mille, I have a standard one that I would be happy to swap over for you and help you out ;).

How much gold is passing hands then buddy?

i just hope it passes the mot or i will have to borrow a standard one of someone for the mot....

i am paying 2k for it which i think is good ....

The Remus cans are good for the old mot's.
Good price. I sold my 99 for 2100 with double the miles on it.

coolio :thumbup

only issue i got at the mo is the rear brake doesnt work....

hoping it just needs bleeding....

both me and my mate looked over it and it seems a nice bike... but buying second hand i cant help feeling nervous !!!!

lol rear brake doesnt work! normal matie :) both milles i've brought second hand and both with no rear brake :lol

Followed the directions on here on how to bleed it and now I can say I have a top rear brake. Just needs bleeding I woudl say buddy.
Have a look on the how to section.

lol..a back brake what do do you want for 2k...ONLY JOKING...i've bled mine 3-4 times now...got in the habit of tying the lever down to keep some pressure in the system..other people hang tins of paint off them...seems to help..but in reality once you get used to the engine braking and downshifting the backbrake becomes redundant anyway.

nice bike but i am biased ..got a yellow one myself same shape and year..you'll be pleased with it ..these bikes are great fun...i'm just waiting for a hooked airbox conversion :doug

any advice theres loads of people on here that have done it it all so just ask:thumbup

I love my 99 although im in the process of giving it a 01> facelift. Hopefully my tank will arrive today tomorrow and then I just need some side panels and paint :) I came from a ZX6R and tbh wouldnt fancy an IL4 again.

:) nice one mate! Its just much easier to ride I think. Dont have to cycle through the gears constantly etc (Yes I feel old lol)

Remus works just fine... i have one too and with the removable baffle it is E-marked. So just insert the baffle when you have the MOT.

tis a nice machine. I've just bought a 2000 model and love the noise! would u believe that dealership put a new MOT on it with an Akropovic and no indicators? ha, they just put a neat bit of black masking tape over the NOT FOR ROAD USE bit! classic.
