Well got round to a 44 on the back but will have to wait till the morning for a test ride , dirty beer awaits . So what can I expect from the 16/44 set up , I know its popular ????

Better acceleration, lower top speed but you'll get to the new limit quicker !! - Oh and smiles or mad grins giving it gas coming out of the corners.

Whats stock 17/42 isnt it ???

I was going to go one smaller on the front in a month or so when current set has reached end of life

So now i aint sure wether to go 16/42 or 16/44

I recently changed over from the stock 17/42 to 16/44 at the recommendation of an article written by Griff. Makes a huge different to acceleration, would recommend to anyone contemplating it! :thumbup

I don't sorry, I keep meaning to bring the magazine in to work and scan it and put it up. It was in Performance Bikes a couple of months ago. Was titled "13 tips to transform your Mille" and changing the sprockets was one of the first things mentioned. They're over geared to start with and changing from the stock to 16/44 gives a perceived 20hp increase in the midrange for minimal money. That, airbox mods and powercommanders were the key things to improve performance of the bike. Beyond that getting things set up properly like correct tension on the throttle cable, having the throttle bodies balanced and remounting the rear master cylinder to how it should be were the key points. When I finally get my lazy *** in gear and get it scanned, along with a couple of other Mille articles (I have a stack of magazines from now right back to first tests when they were released) I will post a topic in here with the links for everyone to enjoy :thumbup

Rsvmark did you get round to scanning the articles? Interested in seing them
