If the clocks have reset the battery's low, charge it fully before attempting a start again to save your sprag clutch.

Did you use any throttle? If so you may well have flooded it. Turn it over with the throttle fully open, fast idle off, & when it catches & bangs very loudly snap the throttle shut ASAP.

HTH

nope no throttle until third attempt which made no difference :(

Have had similar probs with mine. New battery required me thinks. Had to jump mine from a car with the throttl ewide open, choke off and it fired...after removing two plugs and cleaning them.

i had the same problem.. done my sprag clutch after 7 days.. new battery after that, been fine since - So far my rule £300 later
(1) always start with full idle in the down position - no throttle at all.
(2) caught out with side stand and 1st gear engine cut - next start half to full idle depending on time run.
(3) full throttle if no start straight away
(4) if still wont start, just leave for 10 mins.. works every time (so far anyway)

I wish i new the above in December when i bought my first RSV.

Good tip m8 is these RSV need lots of cold cranking amps from the battery.......if you don't you will knacker the sprag as mentioned previously .......don't try and start it till you got a new fully charged battery.........get an uprated one like a motobatt it has 200 CCA ......I got one and it is superb.....get a trickle charger as well to keep it tip top and get an uprated solenoid as the original is not up to the job

Invest in a 100 or 150 amp starter solenoid. If you don't have had problems yet. You will. The Mille loves amps..... Comes cheap from EBay (£15) Easy to change too.

As above higher valve starter solenoid and I replaced my battery with the 14amp hour version it still fits inside the battery housing ok.
The thing that did my head in was the battery the bike came with seemed ok and seemed to test ok but as soon as I got a new it started much much better.
