Hi there everyone thought id introduce myself,
Name: Mark aka DJ Greenlung
Ocupation: Auto Electrician and DJ
Location: Northampton
Previous Bikes: NSR 125, Suzuki vanvan 125, Honda CBR400 (nc23), GSXR600 (srad)

After not riding a bike for years i got myself a Tuono the other day (actually a mille converted)

For years i never had a car so i worked my way up stating with a 125, then a 400, then a 600. Always went Jap,bigger bikes where all L4's so i had never even riden a twin.
I wanted something a bit different this time and nearly bought a supermoto but ended up with this. All i can say is this thing is quick! All bikes are fast but this just feels on a next level.. All the power, any gear, any revs jeez the thing is an animal :thumbup
definitely can say im happy with my bike, here's few pics (prob not the cleanest but i love it)

Ahhhh the delights of a decent intro...pictures and all. You'll go far on here, Grasshopper.:thumbup

erm...DJ Greenlung????:hmm2:

Cheers everyone, nice welcome!
still loving the bike only gripe is i need some proper mirrors, checking who is behind you with this crappy aftermarket thing is no fun ...... El Liamo,my name.. well, i could try and get deep and tell you the meaning etc (prob not what you think) but basically 1.its unique, there's hundreds on 'DJ Scratch's' or something genric like that but only one Greenlung. And 2. It takes up a lot of room on a flyer :thumbup

Is it possible to work out that it was a Mille originally or once the Mille fairing is gone and new nose put on it are they totally the same and impossible to tell the difference?

Nice looking bike. Would never know it was once a Mille. Welcome!

Thanks everybody, loving the bike. Dont like the tyres on there so much (Metzeller or something) will probably change for some smaller 180's on the rear for a bit quicker turn in. Was thinkin of taking the front sprocket down 1 tooth aswell.

Saintsdd in reply to your question the is some differences between mine and a regular T'; The rear end on my bike is slightly bigger than a tuono but if it was a mille past 03 it would be the same rear end. Also I noticed the side mesh panels on the T are gold or black and on the mille silver. Tope yoke and risers may be diferent (mine is from a v4 tuono) Biggest difference you can tell is on the frame though, Mille's where shinny ally where and I think the T's where grey, black or gold and same with the swingarm

I have the same as you, 03 red gen1.

1 down on front and 2 up on rear is what you want matey :)

16/44.

I just joined the Aprilia family as well so I feel weird saying welcome, but, welcome :) Congrats and Nice bike.
I have to say I'm a little surprised. There's a good many brits here. It seems Aprilia's not nearly as popular here in the states.

There does seem to be a lot more Americans on the af1 forum.

What does the 44 give over the 42? I'm running a 16 on the front already.

I dropped down to a 15 in front and found it much more manageable at low speeds. (Yes, I go slow at times, at least when on side streets) No more feathering the clutch to go 25 mph.

Whats the front end like with just the 16 on there?
I want a bit more acceleration and I dont mind a little bit of wheelie action but dont want it to become like riding a supermoto with the front end constantly in the air everytime you touch the throttle

Front end is no problem with the 16 and 44 - you don't have to give it full throttle ALL the time :thumbup

Don't have anything to compare it to as I haven't ridden any other Tuono's, and it's been ages since I rode the Mille. If I get it too many herbs at the lights, then I'm sitting on my arse, that much I know.
