190 will slow the flickability of the machine. Ran a 190 on my Buell when it called for a 180. Tended to make the front push a bit. It also slowed the roll of the bike when leaning over. There are arguments for and agin this subject. Not trying to start one. Those are my observations. ymmv
Had a worn 190 CT2 on when I got the bike, have replaced it with a same brand 180 CT2, but have to say I will probably go back to a 190 when it's time to replace the pair. Will probably go back to Dunlops next time around.
My Gen 2 came with Metz Renntecs with a 190 rear. Since swapped to Dunlop Sportsmarts in a 180 rear. I was expecting slightly faster steering, but tbh can't really tell much difference. Next time if price the same I may go back to a 190 just 'cos it looks slightly better (debatable I know).
I've had a Suzuki and BMW on a 190 and they turned in lovely. Currently got. 180 on the rear as that's what it came with and I replaced it with the same. May try a 190 next time just because. Not noticed the bike turns in any better with a 180 on and I expected it to handle a lot better than the bmw I had. 190 for me next time as like gilo says looks better
I should have mentioned that a 6" rim is needed to properly use a 190. That said the Buell rim was a 5.5" wheel. It made the tire rounder at the peak thus taking away the whole idea behind a 190. Its wider to give you more contact patch when cornering. Im not sure on what the wheel widths are on my Tuolder. IF the 2nd gen has a 6" it would be just fine.
Rico, 10mm more does look cool but does it really make that much of a visual impact at 100mph? hehe
Just fitted a set of Pirelli Diablo Super Corsa BSB tyres 190/55 rear, much better turn in and better feel from the bike under hard acceleration out of corners.
