had my bike about 3wks... running on a standard 17T... riding around London... 15-30mph... was a nightmare... complete utter nightmare... took my bike too FWR in Kennington during my lunch break... they swapped the sprocket over in about 10mins... plus they made sure my rear wheel was aligned properly... cost me a £10... bought sprocket from Chas Bikes in SE1 for £12... the best £22 mod i have done... no more slipping the clutch... riding around @ 10mph in 2nd gear & just being able to roll the throttle on & off !! :biggrin

i was expecting wheelies non stop... but thankfully not a problem... not much fun with nutty cabbies switching lanes when you need your front brakes & wheel on the ground for maximum resistance... if thats your thing though... maybe if you went up to a 44T on the back aswell... & probably a sure thing with a 16T on the front !!

anyways... if you going near slow traffic alot... i highly highly reccommend this mod... im now even more in love with me Mille !! :inlove

Hey RSV-TWIN having exactly the same problem fidn that there is no gear for 20mph, gonna go see the guys down FWR this weekend, good bunch of guys in there. Do you think it would be worth going to 15t?

On another note, the company I used to despatch for used to use Chas bikes and I found them to be in such a rush to turn bikes round that they forget simple things. For example once on a colleagues bike they forgot to bolt the rear caliper on properly after changing the rear tyre, resulting in a fooked disc, and another time forgot to connect the fuel return hose. After that I said I would never take one of my own bikes there even if I broke down outside their front door.:jack

Hi... i think a 15T & 42T would be very... errr... FUN !! :biggrin

i only use Chas Bikes for buying cheap bits... ie sprockets & pads etc... & try & do it myself... but changing the front sprocket seemed very grubby... plus i dont have a paddock stand yet... hence why i got FWR to do it for me... plus... i mean... a £10 !? :pirate

i work for BCCP in SW6... but in the office now... lol... been in the courier game around 15yrs now... use to rip around on my CB250RS & CX500 !!

Bob @ FWR can also get cheap x-track tyres for around £70 a pair... normal thing... ripped @ the edges but mint in the middle !! :devious

15/42 is the same as 16/44 just sometimes you need a 110 link chain with the 16/44

go 15/44 for FUN

:stupid

I have 16/44 with 108 links, but it only just fits :biggrin

Finally just got round to gett a 44 but haven't fitted it yet as i'm waiting for some bling nuts, just keeping my fingers crossed it fits:devious

Just hold on tight when you twist the throttle :devious took a few miles to get used to it when i first rode mine after changing it :thumbup
