I asked that question when Skinners stuck ma sprocket on and he says its ok , just dont change yer rear sprocket bolts with titanium ones as the sensor picks up off them.

speedo actually counts the disk bolts as they go around. If you swap for non magnetic fancy bolts it stops working

Clever stuff, changing the gearing on most other bikes does alter the speedo reading. Rock on Aprilia

A lot of bikes have a mechanical drives from the gearbox, or the sensor is in the gearbox hence final drive changes bollox the speedo's
