Hmmm, looks a bit Dodged if you ask me ... waaaaay to cheap.. prooly something that they sell to the cruiser boys (annoying twerps with small cars all pimped up). there are lots of bits of usless rubbish being sold in the UK for this market.. it sells cos these boys are thick as ya like and will buy anything thats got a pic of a Skyline or Evo on it.

I cant see that it would do much apart from maybe advance the ignition a tad.
I would feel much safer with a Power Commander and some dyno time.
 
I totally agree with Mogster. These are aimed at the boy racers.
Sometimes there are eproms on fleabay claiming - oh, all sorts of things. I put 'em all in the same category, I wouldn't touch 'em with a barge pole.
 
All it doesd is con your ecu into thinking the engine is colder than it really is, therefore richening your mixture. Get a pro with a rolling road to remap your ecu. You don't get anything for nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I 100% agree wit all you fellas but i was sent one for free thats the only reason for havin it...... i have to wait a few weeks to get onto a Dyno...
So me being me & it was rainning i figured fuc it i'll wire it up & see.
Well within the first 200meters it surprised the **** out of me masses of torque from about 200rpm less so around 3 - 3500 it stands the front up at much lower revs... almost feels like one less toothy on the front sprok
Soooo will it do any damage? longevity?
Quick run up the local range sees me doing it in 3rd rather than 2nd but was a quick run will see how it goes over the weekend and let you know..
I do agree with all your coments but could not help myself to try it hope it does no damage..... be interesting to dyno it
 
Well a weekend gone and around 400 klms done and 100klms on track.... it was a gokart track...... tight & short.... quite a few casualties although only one 2 crashes & were low speed ones....
The chip did nothing for power as far as i could tell & im no expert but the torque kick was definately reduced to 3500 to 4000rpm..
Especially significant on take offs from lights etc and in mid turns.....
 
Also today chasing through Aprilia Australia the chip to go with my Akro single system which was not installed with the pipe..... dont know how much diff it will make perhaps a Power Comander would be best....
 
I swapped out the chip that came with the bike after the new Akra was installed and the improvement was obvious. I'm just guessing but besides the mapping the new chip would also control the ignition timing etc... which is something the PCIII doesn't do. A PCIII on top of the new chip should provide even better results once mapped properly.

I've got a PCIII but it is running a downloaded map from PCs site so I doubt it's running as good as it could. A custom map is on the list but a certain Fiancee has opinions about spending wedding money on boys toys and such at the moment. All in all I like the way the bike performs so I'm not too worried about it.
 
mmmmm i know how that feels. Have spoken to Aprilia Australia and they dont have a chip for the 05 model he says it has to be remapped for the pipe which has been done.... really im just ******* around the ******* goes alot harder than really neccessary and im not that good a rider that it would make much of a difference on the road..
