I am going to change my gearing on my '07 Tuono to 15t front and 42t rear, where's the best place to buy them and how does this effect the chain, does it give you a standard adjustment ?

Thanks, Nick

Tash does them,,,,,,,have a look in the appropriate section or look him up in the members list.

I have the Renthal hard anodised fitted to mine, was looking at the stealth / supasprox but was talked out of it because of some apparent problems :dunno your best bet is have a good trawl through internet / forum reviews and make your own mind up as everyone will have their own preference :yes one thing I will say is how many race teams have Renthal sprockets fitted compared to other brands :yes
good luck on your quest :thumbup

Yep...me too....3 bike...no probs.
Just look after the chain as normal, and you're good to go.
fwiw...the alloy sprockets seem to like the 'dry' lube....you get none of the 'pasty' cutting action when the chain gunges up a bit.

Fitted the new 15/42 sprockets today, went out for a little test ride and I'm very happy with it. Pulls a lot cleaner and effortlessly from low down.

How does this effect the RPM at freeway speed? I usually run around 85 MPH @ 4500 RPM. How high of RPM can I keep constant safely?

80mph is about 5000rpm with 15/42 and I find it a bit buzzy on a straight run.
That's about half the rev limit so should be no problem.

yer observations right Dal min.......fairly smooths oot the lumpy low revs low speed stuff.....

......next step is some nice AP rearsets tae get yer back brake and easier nuetral sorted oot

Gone for the 42T rear at the moment because I've heard the front sprocket can be a bit of a ***** to do.
See how we go with that

Going to do the front sprocket tomorrow
Has any one got any tips for this or is it really straight forward?

It's super easy, if you can do the rear you can do the front. Just remember some lock-tite and a torque wrench. I did my 15/42 gears this week and its amazing for cruising town. I can hardly shift fast enough!

Didn't have to do it after all... Took off the front sprocket cover and there was already a 15tooth on :)
