has anybody out there gone for a big bore kit, porting et al? Curious as to how much bang you get for your buck and did start to look at the supercharging side of life, but have given up on that. love my rsv but often hanker for a little more go. Done everything else I think and dont know whether this would be a must, or a do it after it blows up kind of thing? Well, except carbon wheels, but worry about heavy handed tyre fitters destroying protective layers over time.....

After getting 130 bhp rear wheel out of my Edwards, the blokes at Southern Cross mentioned big bore 1060 would give at least another 10 bhp with a bit of head work. I must stress I'm no expert!

With an 01-03 mille I reckon with with everything done (airbox, snorkels, throttle bodies, twin 2 into 2 chip, big bore, power commander + map) at least 140 - maybe up to 145? rw bhp.

Not sure how much power the <non edwards> 01-03 engine can take (cranks?)

Rgds

yeah Don at S.Cross has done a big bore job on quite a few.

Since the bore makes the bike even more over square the main advantage (according to him) was that it revs out more freely, ie makes more power close to the redline.

My personal opinion is that it is probably more worth doing on a mk1 lump since they hit the limiter fairly easily, if I had a recent RSV I'd only bother if I was doing regular track days. Just my take. :dunno
