08 Tuono steering damper/ Misting clocks.

Hi guys, new to Tuonos, just enquiring if anyone can shed some light on what part number is required for Ohlins steering damper as I know the wealth of knowlege on these sites is far better than the dealers could give.
I have made enquiries with Harris and they only list up to 04 and couldnt guarantee that this one would fit (SD 133). There is one for sale on Fleabay off an 03 (old shape) SD 175, will this fit ?, could anyone shed any light on which one definately fits, dosnt have to be Ohlins as long as it does a better job than the crappy standard one.
Also, has anyone had any problems with misting clocks, I rang local dealers who said this is a common fault with no, as yet permanant fix.
They say drilling the casing of the clocks sometimes works but have been instances when it hasnt worked, :banghead, they also said they could write to Aprilia to get new clocks but would probably just be the same. :dunno, not the answer I really want after just shelling out £7000, oh and problems getting 4th gear, never had these problems with RSVR, are there any other problems I might come accross that I should know about ?.
Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi Richmond, I've just had new clocks fitted, last Wednesday, to my '08 Factory. No hassles and job takes less than half an hour including resetting values. Don't drill until you've spoken to your Aprilia dealer who needs to take pictures to send to the factory. Annoyingly your pictures won't work as I found.Best of luck.

Could you tell me if there is a part number on your steering damper, dont want you to remove but if there is one in sight I would appreciate it, thanks again. :thumbup

Hi Richmond Rossi, try this:

OEM Aprilia Ohlins Adjustable Steering Damper (8795040)

Pulled it of the AF1 site.

i think i have fixed my misting clock problem. the top cover/ glass assembly is only held on with silicone. i pulled them apart and cleaned all the old stuff off and let the clocks dry out properly. i then re siliconed them back together using just a few spots evenly spaced all the way around. my theory being that you want the inside to be the same temp as the outside to stop the condensation forming. been 2 weeks and they are still clear. even after getting soaked on the M5 yesteday. still keeping my fingers crossed though.

my dealer said heatin a pin and poking through the bottom right hand corner of the clocks, may remedy it, one burnt finger later, and lo and be hold, **** all different,,,,,,

Unfortunately mines out of warranty as the previous owner forget to register for the extended 2 years.:banghead. No amount of grovelling persuaded dealer to help!! Clocks seriously misting so need to sort out soon. Will probably try the 'take apart and reseal' option. Found this on another forum

Will keep you posted.

Hi dazza, that looks promising. I have taken a copy of the thread and as I am seeing my Aprilia dealer tomorrow will run it by the workshop manager and come back.

apart from the removing the clocks from the bike that is similar to what i tried the first time (i am a lazy git and didnt want to reset all the clock functions). it misted back up the following day. thats when my theory of letting fresh air in came to me. used the bike every day since and washed it a couple of times and still mist free.

Hi, just checking that you only used the silicon to hold the glass in place rather than completely seal it and waterproof it? I'm probably taking mine to bits next week. :eek

thats all i did. i completely re sealed it the first time but it misted back up the next day. not sure if there was still some moisture in there when i did it or not. the weather was cold and damp at the time so its possible it wasnt completely dry.
