Hey guys anyone got a pre 06 Tuono (long stroke) and fitted the new style mirrors? :dunno Did they go straight on and if so got any pics? Mine fell off the stand last weeknd!! :banghead so thought I might switch to the new style as I need to buy 1 new mirror anyway.

Bad luck Troy but do yourself a favour and get some aftermarkets they are **** easy to put in and pick a size you like but if you like the new style go with that... best wishes Towie

Yes.

They are a straight swap, look better than the mickey mouse ears and you can see more.

Piccy - I'll get one later in the garage.

Note. These mirrors also fit the shiver, Dosoduro(?) and the Super Motards, which are often cheaper than the Tuono parts.
- If you ever need indicators buy them for a either an RS125 or the 125 Tuono, only £6 each, not £26.

PS "longstroke" :dunno
It's a Tuoldo if you want to give it a nickname. ( as opposed to Tunuo)

Thanks Paul

I got quoted £60 a set for the new style, which I thought was a fair price. Thanks for the tip on the indicator as I need one of them also.

The "Longstroke" was the older engine design where the piston actually travelled further (longer shaft etc?) apparently creating more compression and low down torque but less revs and top end hp.

The new engine has been smoothed out to give a higher rev range and more hp but less torque at lower revs.

Someone has been telling you porkies, the bore and stroke on the V990, Titanium and Evo series engines is identical at 97mm x 67.5mm. The difference comes from bigger valves in the heads, larger throttle bodies, (52, 54 & 57mm) and lightened internal components.

The different power spread between a Tuoldo (gen 1) and a Tunuo (Gen 2) comes mainly from the exhausts, the 2 into 1 system on the Tuoldo causes a flat section on the power curve between 5 and 6 thousand revs, swap over to a decent 2+2 and it's a different beast.

The "longstroke" story came from my local Aprilia dealer! Useless grease monkies......glad you put me straight else I could have been spouting that drivel all over the place :thumbup

I can see why they would think it was a shorter stroke motor in the later versions, it would have the same effect, more or less. A bit worrying that they don't actually KNOW the difference, :dunno
