HI new member just bought a very tidy rsv factory 6000 genuine miles (had the original front tire now changed). loving it on the open road until I come to town speeds when runs lumpy and cuts some times. It has akrapovic end cans on I don't have the originals to try. Don't think it's on map 2, my question is does any one know of a dealer or indi garage with axone diagnostics to switch it, I live near Southampton tried CMW Chichester but they have up dated for rsv4 and don't support gen 2.
Thanks in advance.

Say Paul from the isle of wight pointed you there way, may do you a deal may charge yer double, lol,
John knows his stuff used to race a gen 2, now races a V4.

Hi,I had a similar problem bike cutting out in traffic and when down shifting slowing down. When I stopped at Griff's on the way back from TT its base map was wrong although it was on 2 for the Akrapovics. He put a updated map on it and was fine.
Mine is an 05 factory. I hope this helps, I only live in Winchester see how you get on with an updated map it may have the original map.

Just an update finally got up to bikers world today John switched it to map 2 in minutes for a reasonable charge. Wow what a change, on way up cut out three times at lights and junctions, trip home didn't miss a beat and low to mid pick up perfect. well worth doing. Going to enjoy trip to Truxton tomorrow.

No adjustment needed will check at next service.

So it didn't need adjusting or he didn't adjust it, i have just had mine done by Griff at AP, mine was cutting out at lights and I assumed that it was just the throttle bodies needing synchronised as it is common with Aprilia's particularly when you change anything on the intake or exhaust. Anyway it turned out that my bike was also not on the right base map and once that was uploaded it still had to have it's throttle bodies synchronised to make sure the CO2 levels were within a percent or two of each other.

One thing that was mentioned was that mine was also on Map 2 as expected but Griff had to drill out the exhaust bungs (seemingly they had never been removed) and he expected them to have been removed when mine was switched to Map 2 by another Aprilia dealer, seemingly it should have it's emissions checked as a routine thing.

I suppose if yours is running ok it will not make much difference but mine was massively out with my rear cylinder being excessively lean and my front cylinder being very rich, even with the new base map on :)

Just switched to map 2 didn't check CO2 it idled smoothly and as even as a V twin can after switch so thought it cant be far off. Will get it checked when Griff is down south.

Mine also idle smoothly mate.. But on the piaggio navi diag tool.. Shown that my pressure cylinder is on max.. Front is 1002 and rear 702.. It should be equal on both side.. Check the link given..
