05 RSVR - 1st and neutral is all I got..!

...gday! The bike won't shift into second gear at all, even when the engine is not running:exclamation. I have bled the clutch master and slave, there was a bit of air from master cylinder end and now the lever feels nice and strong, but even when the bike is NOT running I can't engage it into second gear at all. The missus has a vtr 250 and when the engine isn't running I can engage second and the bike will stay in second (..like when you have to bump-start a dirt bike in the sand it's always better to choose second, cos it stays in bloody second!!) I'm beginning to think my luck has run out with the RSV; 35,000km and perhaps looking to split her in half and donate most of my hard-earned to Berlusconi and the township of Noale!!! If there's anybody out there familiar with this problem, or similar, and knows of a different solution then I would part with my left nut to know what it could be!!! Cheers...

Thanks for your reply, I'm going to have a look at those today, and hoping there's something awry there!! It just seems strange that it wont stay in second gear while the engine is not running? If I rock the bike back and forward and try and manually hold the gear lever in second gear, by hand, then it will stay in second, but if I let go of the gear lever then it just pops back to neutral? I dunno!!!!!
