How u all going just got back from a 1200klm ride on the tuono what i noticed on the ride is the ohlins suspension is really harsh no matter how i adjusted it sag has been set .Anyway do all u experts recon a revalve will fix my problem or should i get a different rear shock ? just trying to get a plush ride what would u all recommend? Cheers and thanks in advance

Shakey,
You really need to give more information about the bike before anybody could give any worthwhile comments.

How old
Mileage
Been crashed
Has the suspension been previously adjusted

Very unlikely that an Ohlins rear shock is knackered, more likely to be set up wrong.
I would personally get a competent spanner man to check it out before jumping in and possibly wasting a load of cash doing work that may not need to be done.

I would definitely go for getting it set up to suit you. If you are keeping the bike for more than a couple of months it's well worth the investment, especially as it is wearing suspension that you will really get some benefits from getting it setup properly

The bike has 10000klms hasn't been crashed .I have set sag front and rear and tried to adjust harshness out with compression and rebound adjustments to no avail. I went and had a chat to my suspension expert and he said he will have a look in the suspension and see what has been done then spring it correctly and revalve it to suit my rough road requirements he had no dought he can make it plush and work properly for fast road riding which is great but fairly expensive :) will def get it sorted as this bike is a weapon in the tight mountains.

Hi shakey, I just put on an ohlins 8240 on my 2003 tuono and I am trying to set it up at the moment, It is more compliant than the Sach's, however I have a Hornet 900 with an Ohlin's and it is significant more compliant as well as providing excellent control when pushing on in bumpy terrain. I believe that if I can not get adjustment to work, a spring and revalve will be needed.

Hi Shakey,
I have a 2014 model with Sachs, and I've just had the suspension seen to by chaps who know their stuff. They re-sprung to suit my weight and re-valved. This has made a huge difference, the bike doesn't have that harshness but is still sporty and firm. I'd recommend having it looked at if you want to hang on to the bike for a few years.

Cheers for the info fellas will be taking it into steve mudford for a revalve and respring he said he can get it sorted for me can't wait :)

Well i have finally had the 04 tuono ohlins resprung and revalved for my weight i got it done bye steve mudford from race dynamics in melbourne and all i can say is the bike actually handle well now I'm wrapped with his work and highly recommend him to anyone looking to setup their road bike or track bike :thumbup
