Hi
Help needed - I have a Gen2 - 04 Rsvr - Never had any starting issues but recently started having starting problems - apparently the battery is not getting charged when i ride my bike - hence me having to call RAC on my way to work.
I've checked the brown connector and it looks like new, battery is always charged with Optimate (no problems with the battery before) but recently bike started cutting out for no reason while it was idling at traffic lights. (The idling starts to dip and then the bike cuts out.)
The voltage across the battery is only reading 12v - the RAC guy says it should be over 14v

Do i need to replace the regulator/rectifier? Will a Gen1 Mille regulator rectifier work on my 04 Rsvr - what other mods can i do in order to prevent these electrical starting gremlins that's having me off my bike for 3 weeks now?
What else can it be? any advise would be welcome.. cheers

i'd put money on your stator being burnt out on 1 winding. ditch the brown connecter whether it looks good or not. It's a point of high resistance in the wiring.

what he said .... check both brown connectors ... one in between the V of the engine ...then check the white connector under the rear seat pod ... .. bypass ALL 3 connectors as they cause problems
