02 front brake calipers

having a right laugh getting front wheel off... drilled out spindle clamp bolts but now haven't got right size allen key to get calipers off... does anyone know what size i need so i can get one... all i want to do is put a new frigging tyre on !!!!

definitely an allen bolt .. mine is an R with ohlins

It is a strange size that doesnt come in your bog standard set as i found out, i managed to ''borrow'' one from the old man. 17mm rings a bell, ill get down to the garage and confirm in the morning mate.

Yep standard from the factory is 13mm bolt, however the subframe uses an unusual size a-key bolt - I reckon thats whats been used on yours?!

Sorry Phil mate, i was called into work so didnt get a chance to check, i should get a tape measure to it, thats what i did first time round. Im pretty sure we are talking about the OE part as the head of the bolts on mine are a perfect fit into the caliper slot. The no 'r' model uses a different part. cheers for the link Robbie, it does show hex socket screws which must be an alternative standard fit. they are sunk into the brackets . the way the previous owner has tightened everything i know every time i work on something new i'm going to teach the neighbours kids some new words.

one caliper off - what kind of ***** does up an allen bolt so tight onto an alloy bracket that a 16 stone bloke needs to stand on an allen key to undo it ( while his obliging son holds it in place )... finally get my new tyre BUT work meeting saturday with a ******** delusional M.D. and raining sunday... life sucks sometimes
