I'm seriously considering these for riding in and around the Bay area but I want a pretty strong endorsement before I shell out this kind of money. Anyone able to vouch for these things?

The CRGs look to be more functional units . The retractable feature of the CRGs makes them better value IMO.

The 919 I'm riding has bar end mirrors and I really don't like the concept very much. It makes the bike wider which would seem a bad thing for splitting, they are so small its really hard to judge how far back anything is and I find they bother my hands (I tend to grip the bar end + grip on long rides). Anyway, the CRG's are very well made, but the general design doesn't suit me.

Actually, unless you absolutely need the folding feature (for parking/splitting etc.), it's more trouble than it's worth. Whenever you try to adjust the mirrors in, they just end up collapsing :thumbdown If I had it to do over, I'd get the solid ones.

There ya go - that shoots that theory down in flames. :pissl
It seemed like a good idea at the time...............

vermicious: I'd take the advice of someone who has actually used these things m8.

I like the rizomas , have had them on my last three bikes ,even better suited for the aprillia, bit pricey but well made :thumbup

These mirrors dont add too much more width , no problems with lane splitting which is also legal here! :hehe

I saw some Rizomas fitted to a Shiver the other day. They looked really good.

My only question is: with standard mirrors ('04 Tuono) I get a really good view of my elbows, but I'm worried if I change to CRG or Rizoma bar-end mirrors I'll just get a good view of my forearms?

I've not ridden a bike with either, so interested in your thoughts.

Hmm, not quite, but I'm working on it.

Have you any idea of the calorific value of a pint of Guinness!
