Selling my 07 Gen 2 Tuono. Original advert in the link below.
Just realised that a dent in the frame automatically classifies the bike as a write off
Damage after the bike was knocked over last winter, brake lever dug into frame and chipped it. Didn't even notice it was there until a potential buyer spotted it last night.
It got through the MOT with the dent, don't know how.
Not sure what/how much I can get for it now - So make me an offer.
Bike runs and is taxed and Motd till March.
It will have to be an offer for the whole bike as i haven't got he time/skill/space to tear it apart

Will change the advert on bike trader to reflect new damage, thought to post it here first as the home of T enthusiasts!

APRILIA TUONO 1000 cc

I paid that much for my "T" (cat C write off) but it was the bodywork that was broken and a small dent in the frame (nowhere as near as bad as yours )

It`s still cheap though ,maybe even a steal.

I`d keep it and look out for a frame

Swapping all the parts over is no big job ..

Take a few pics to show/remind of where the bits go

Pity welding alloy affects the strength of the welded area.

Ho hum.

That said I'd weld it if it were mine and widnae give it a second thought.

It's in an area that can be welded and then plated for additional strength and as a plus it can be dressed up to look like original.

BTW I wouldn't post this unless I knew it would be strong enough to take the stresses that section of the frame is subjected to and all work was carried out by myself.

A rough estimated cost of repair would be £5,000.

Trust this meets your requirements and look forward to hearing from you.

Ok, I am off to Halfords for a tig welder then! But seriously, I have spotted a few frames online now just need to find out how much it would cost to swop frames.
mmmmmm…….the welding option could probably be done by someone who knows what that are doing (not me) The bike is already a cat c and I would think a welded frame would scare of an already reduced market.

Put it this way mate ...............................

sort it yourself...................??

Not many ,infact very few people want a cat C unless desperate ......ish.

Keep it, sort it and get another bike .

How many man hors do you reckon it will take to change the chassis over. I have spotted a few frames on ebay for under £200. Someone has offered me £1.6k and I have provisionally agreed……...

It will take as long as it takes....................

Go at your own speed prefarably, slow......................... no rush , take pics

tag all electrics and lie them down as they lie on the bike

Doing this will help you find your way about the bike and know where everthing is

If you do it yourself don`t leave it

Get every thing ready before you start.

If buying a frame then ask for pictures of the same areas (both sides) as your bit that is damaged

well worth the change of frame

and tell DVLA of the change
