Been lurking here for a bit, waiting to be an "official" member and as of yesterday, I can now consider myself one of y'all. I've had it less than 24 hours and already compiled a list of mods I wanna do, starting with changing the sprockets so I can go less than 35mph, although who really wants to? :dunno A bigger wind screen is also near the top of my list. It was 28F this morning. But I had the biggest frozen grin you've ever seen.

congrats, welcome, and good luck!

pardon my ignorance, but what model/year is your bike? can't say I've ever seen that color around here!

re "lower than 35 mph" I was shocked the first ride by how well behaved my Tuono V4 was in city traffic, considering the incredible power, it rides (imo) like a motor scooter in city!

wondering why you'd need a mod. cheers

its Gen 2 V twin 1000R and they are very snatchy below 3,000 RPM on standard gearing, usual mod is drop a tooth on the front and add 2 to the back :roost

Welcome 2C, smashing machine yer got there jist a pity it's in the slow blue colour. :thumbup

Yup, 2008 Tuono and you are spot on in regards to the snatchiness. I was thinking of 15/42, but am open to other suggestions. I have no concerns regarding top end speed or quite frankly, gas mileage and I won't be racing (although I may have a track day or two during the year). Don't plan on any long (100+ mile) rides either. Plus I live in a 25mph zone due to lack of sidewalks and narrow shoulders and want to be a good boy (most the time). Thanks all.....

Unlike you, mr A, green with envy.

Sorry OT it wid take far more than a blue T to make me Green,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a fishing trip oot of Arbroath wid do the trick. :puke

So I should cancel my ordering a personalized license plate of BLUBYU, or does it still apply to non-Aprilias?

cool, 2nd! thnks for info. where/how did you find it, if you don't mind me asking, pls? I'm down on ebay; my experience there has been more one of deadends, high priced dealers, unrealistic "reserves", and non serious bids than anything else. just wondering if I'm alone with that.
cheers,

(P.S; do you have a better pic, maybe side view of the bike? ty again)

I found it on cycletrader.com. The place I bought it from is in Minnesota, so I had to pay $700 to have it shipped to my place (I live a bit outside of Seattle) I had some concerns buying a bike without checking it out first hand but really wanted a blue one and there were none to be found locally. You might also check with AF1 Racing, as they currently have a 2007.5 Blue Tuono for sale. As for a picture, the only other one I've got so far is kind of embarrassing, as I'm in it, but here goes....

way cool. thanks! nice bike! looks well cared for! re embarrassing; not at all..

yes, i did Cycle Trader once, found THAT worked well...got a trailer and a road trip and a great deal on a kawi out of it all, u coulda stopped at Sturgis; that's out there someplace too, I think, lol

many miles on it? looks like you got a good deal what's that can?

cheers

I think I got a "fair" deal on it. It has a bit over 6K miles on the clock. The cans are Akrapovics and (I believe) are an upgrade that comes from Aprilia. (If I'm wrong, I'm sure there are a number of knowledgable folks that will correct me) :thumbup If you want to discuss this in more detail, send me a PM with a number you can be reached at and I'll be glad to fill you in on all the gory details of this purchase.
