Odd Warranty Claim - success

I picked up a new V4R 1st March from Wheels of Peatboghorror: cutting a long story short - due to arctic weather and the roads around here being a mix of salt, mud and cow ****, Ive not used her much. Anyway, being observant :no:no a couple of weeks ago I noticed some minor rippling in the polycarbonate tank shell: its not bad and you can only see it in certain lights; but it's a new bike and shouldn't have defects, and more critically it bugs me.

Anyway, I was expecting a challenge re my warranty claim (Ive not read much positive comment re Piaggio or Wheels on issue of Warranty): but credit where credit is due, Wheels were helpful and apologetic, and the new tank unit was fitted yesterday, with no quibble.

What stunned me though was the supposed list price for the part - an eye watering £1100 :eek::eek: Glad it was a warranty claim !
I reckon Aprilia just thought of a number and out a £ sign in front of it

Well done fubar :thumbup its nice to hear a good outcome for a change when dealing with Piaggio :yes

Hope they haven't used the one off mine that I'm picking up in a couple of weeks will have to check that side very carefully. Glad you got it sorted Fub Maybe they are finally getting their act together I believe Sparky has had a new tank also, wonder if it was the same issue ?

MMM - your should be OK mate, I saw the replacement tank sitting in a box :)
All joking aside, its worth closely checking your tank (from behind left side), as Piaggio only asked to see one photo before agreeing to the claim, which made me think mine cant be a "one off".

Not fitted a pipe yet as I was hoping to see and hear an Austin Racing GP2 end can, up close, before deciding what to fit: might yet still go for an Akra though.

Be interested to see if you have any similar issues re finding "Neutral" with your zero miler.
Cheers

Result F, good to hear of a no quibble fix. :thumbup
