Just test drove and bought the 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4 R. I am coming off Speed Triple R (2012) and KTM Superduke 990 (2008). Holy sweet heavens, what a bike the Tuono is. It's everything I was looking for in a motorcycle.

Speed Triple R - too gentleman-ish. You have to ask for it, yes sir, can you give me passion - no sir.
KTM - love the quality, ergos, attention to detail, but too much lurching on/off the trottle; could not feel confident in the corners.

The minute I jumped on the Tuono, I instantly started yelling with joy inside my helmet; can't say much about how I felt beyond that. My, My, My. The bike is light, corners easy, responds to everything without an attitude (KTM) or a "well, yes sir" - response (STR). The seat cradles me and provides an additional level of encouragement. I even created this account tonight to share my joy. I am a new member to this forum, hello everybody. California, South Bay. Will pick it up over the next few weeks.

Well that's quite an intro.

Welcome to the forum .... you lucky tupp

I take it you quite like your new steed.

I have not received it yet, just did a test drive of one in yellow color. I wanted one in black, it's on order. So now we wait. I'll post pictures when I get it. But, yeah, I did enjoy it. In 20 minutes of the test drive it gave me what STR couldn't in 2 months I owned it..

Welcome on board, I dont want to ride one as I dont want to be tempted as I have never been happier with my current bike and thats a first for me!! Enjoy.

Great bike not surprised your loving but give 2 months and you will be shouting "come on you guttless bastard" its amazing how much bhp you can get used to :lol

I know the feeling. Im picking up my black 2012 Tuono APRC V4 with an Akrapovic slip on and race map in 9 days. I rode one without the slip on so Im pumped to hear it with one on.

How much fun is that quickshifter?

bastards made me cry again

If everyone on here gets a V4, I suppose I will have to as well.

There will be some cheap V2`s on the market soon.

I'd love a V4T, but when I was in the position of maybe buying one a few months back I decided in the end to keep my Gen 2 (ace bike) and buy a new Triumph Street Triple R as well.

I now have two superb bikes in my garage for less than it would have cost me to trade up to a V4T. I don't regret my choice.

That said when the time comes to get rid of my T, a V4T is the almost definite replacement, won't be for a few years though.

Picked up my new V4 yesterday. Test report: confirmed goodness everywhere. The ride home from San Francisco had never been better. New mods and additions will include: Evo tail, RG sliders and possibly a 15T front sprocket (with the new chain and rear sprockets replaced as well). Now the pics:

What about the gear to go along with my new V4? Thinking RS Taichi, no? Considering: RS Taichi (top notch armor, properly treated leather), Vansons (top notch all around, but no ventilation, tight as a drum), and also Motoport - (it's very safe, but who want to wear a double-sided sand paper.)
