Daz, I did 8 years on the trot to the mecca called Douglas, the first year was 1978, had some serious good crack over the years. All I posted was beware the speed guns.
So, don't ride pissed, watch the tram lines, beware the speed camera's /speed guns, watch your mirrors. Enjoy and get back home in one piece, get used to the piss taking, it's part of the forum crack.

Daz - I too am a new comer, but i think the cure might be to:
Run widershins round the nearest Japanese bike dealer (e.g. Honda dealers are good, but Suzuki will do) shouting "fud!" at the top of your voice, repatively( this word appears frequently amoung the Tuono fraternatiy). Then you listen out for the Bark of the Mighty V-Twin to echo amoung the Grave Stones of the Italian Economy. once the bahemoth appears and swallows his fuel at an alarming rate, you should say unto him thus "hmmm Rotax you say? That's not Italian, is it love???" And it shall come to pass that he sill suffer much confusion, and he will allow you into the fold to be confused as to what's going on for ever more.
And no I haven't tried it, it's just a lucky guess.

Daz just enjoy i know you will i wish i was going instead of fooking work nothing wrong with getting a bit excited we all still got a bit of kid in us no matter how old we get
I've got a Sargent seat and wee Fifi has the touring seat. We did a couple hunner in a day last time hame, so should be ok. My undipped dipped headlight will be even mair undipped...perhaps like a WW2 aeroplane searchlight. Oh and running rearsets as well........

Years ago me and a few mates went to the TT and I had an RD500 and a mate had an RG500. As the ferry docked we all trapse down to the car deck and fire up the engines waiting for everyone ahead of us to get off the boat, sat there blipping the throttle to get the engine warm this huge german says 'Please svitch vor engine off as zit if very hard to breath' looked behind he and the whole fcking deck was filled with blue 2-smoke:lol and bikes were appearing out the mist...
