Couldn't find much about it on the web, so decided to ask you guys. Speed sensor, when fitted does it touch the rear brake disk bolts? Had to look at mine and it has dip grove from the bolts. Few days back speedo stopped working and today came back to life. Still a mystery for me why did that happen )))

No it should'nt touch,....there should be an air gap of about 2mm IIRC.
Have the disc bolts come loose or been replaced?Could just be you picked up a bit of grit or debris from the road and it got jammed in there.

the grove is from the bolts and couple mm deep, bolts look standard for me.

Maybe at some point the wheel has been run misaligned and fouled the bolts?

Aye D min....thats def nae right at all...should not touch in any way.

Is this something ye have jist noticed? Strange cos to get that sort of sideways movement to make it touch is weird.

I would replace it as if its worn thru and you get it soaked it can short and blow the fuses for the fuel pump and starter circuit. This is what happened tae me out on a run when the sensor shorted out and melted. Left me well stranded til a sussed it oot.

Ah wiz wonderin if some one had put the wheel back in wi the spacers wrong side roond or something at some point. But ah don,t think the caliper etc would allow you tae fit it that way mmmm :hmmm

Cam/crank/speed/ABS sensors run in a hall effect. This takes gap at a certain distance or the effect is a wash. So, after you wash the bike, change the tire, you want clean/gaps back at those kinds of computer sensors. Never had to do this with older bikes with cables, but it will be normal output with tire spin. Something running 360° will be exploited down the road and here we are. Fly by wire. You want it cleaned of any magnetic debris. Oh, it came back? It said it was dirty and could not see out the window kind of effect. Now that the gap is back; The speedo can see the back wheel again.

Ahh i get it 2know!! 16 apples divided by the length of a wave circuit = the tenth of Dr livingstone i presume. In the dark monkey grass stain 16 candles with an oil filter bolt is a bright red car.

thnx for heads up rico. how precise is chain tensioner should be? there is very small difference between left and right wheel nut positions. would you tell from these pictures? full service was done last week after which i noticed speed playing up
