Just bought a RSVR1000 2005. It has done 18000 miles.
Switched from a 1997 GSXR 600, and my new bike will be delievered next week.
I have some questions.

Since it's a V-twin.
- How will the fuel consumption be when travelling long distance and keeping the bike steady at about 60 mph? Per/100km
- Should i use fully og semi-syntethic 15w50 oil?
- What will be different from my last bike? (Acceleration, comfort etc)
- How will Leo Vince exhaust, KN air filter and Power Commandor affect the bike?

Something else i should think about? Some tips?

Congratulations ......pictures please !

What goes wrong ? Reference Thread - Common Issues Info

They are very reliable if cared for, electrics are dodgy on gen 2 (like yours) the magneto fails ....
Also the rear linkage is a known fault .....on gen 2 again....
Plastic tanks grow if you use ethanol tanks (all bikes) avoid fuel with added eu comedy **** ethanol (often the 99 98 Ron fuels don't have ethanol in some countries, never leave the bike brimmed with ethanol)

It sounds bad, but they are great bikes, there are other good webs for aprilia's aprilia.me Forums is busier than this one....

Good luck

Hello, congratulation! I wiss you to have nice and safe rides! In my opinion you should use full synthetic oil, I use silicolin! It's very nice to open the air box! Also, I use 100 octane gasoline.

I used to have a gixxer 6 and mille's are so much more fun, the torque is awesome, cruising at 70 will feel so slow, I find myself cruising at 100 as it just doesn't feel like it, fuel wise it's no different to my old gixxer, my bike is a 99 tho, the more you gas the more you use, as a wise man told me, just ride the torque ! Maybe change sprocket sizes, some people find it better for town riding, there's my 10 pence
