Did a P/X on this bike with a mate last week but only took it out for the first time today. BLOODY NORA! I was not expecting power like that! Just wonderful...& the noise is something else. I've always had big Jap inline 4s & this is my first Vtwin. I am still quite giddy after the ride. Doesn't feel familiar yet but that'll come & boy does it move. A totally different kind of delivery.
To say I'm impressed is an understatment:thumbup:thumbup

Not a jap 4 in any way
But a very rewarding bike to own , work on setting up the handling , if it's sluggish , you can turn it into a GP 250 style bike quite easily with a few tweeks
Do the electrics mods if they haven't been done
Cup of tea / beer , go out to the garage and just sit and look at it , the more you look the better it gets

Then post some pics

Mike

Thanks for that Mike.
It was quite different from what I expected but in a good way. I'm not used to the riding position & handling yet. It'll take a while because I've come from a sit up naked machine & not ridden with clip ons for 20 years so I'm fighting the bars a bit. Just need to spend a couple of months getting the feel before I can really appreciate it.
As for sitting & looking at it, that's all I can do right now coz the weather is ****! Frustrating as hell! Just want to get out & ride!
I might come back to you about 'the electric mods' coz I don't know what that means & don't know if they've been done. Will ask my mate.

There'll be heaps of info in this forum or the AF1 forum about the standard mods, including electrics, people do to these machines - yours might even have them already! Great bike, have fun!

Gooday mate!
Thanks for that. I've had bikes since I was 14 years old & I can honestly say that I'm about exited about this one as some of my very first ones. I lost interest in riding for a while & was considering hanging up my leathers. A mate then made noises about doing a part/ex with mine. Best decision I've made in a long time. It has definitely reignited my passion for bikes & am gonna have to control myself when it actually dries up here (weather has been crap) & I get out next. Looking forward to getting to know it better over the next few months. Then I'll look into the various mods that can be done as well.
Thanks for the tips,
See you on the road:thumbup

I know that feeling, been riding for about 25 years - I had my last bike for 14 years and a few other bikes before that one - but I've never had so much fun since I bought my RSV a year ago. I still go and look at it when I can't ride it - that new bike feeling hasn't gone away :)

I'm sure there's a forum post like this one on here, but I tend to hang out a bit more at the AF1 forum: Beginners guide to Aprilia Rotax ownership

Thanks again BZ,
I'll check that out. A beginners guide is exactly what I need! Feels a bit like starting again.
