Hi all just purchased my first Aprila RSV 1000 and have to say it's a bit more of a hand fun than the bandit I had.

I just have a few questions not having owned one before. It was sitting about garaged for about 2 months and I was wondering would this be a reason why it is a little rough on starting at times on accounts that I have read they don't like a low battery ? When it doesn't start it seams to kick itself into KPH rather than MPH?

It also felt a little stiff on the gears but again that might just be because it was sitting round? If so anyone recommend good oil to pop into it

Cheers all and hope picture is viewable if not I'll get some up soon

Vince

hi there i too am new to my mille and yes the battery voltage is a big issue in starting as they have a sprag cluth on the starting system and a low battery can cause damage to this part upon turning engine over at the same time if it doesnt fire straight off it resets the clocks to kph it easy fix to changs back to mph..not sure on the engine oil it not usual grade just had mine done can find out grade and let u know....regards chris

Hi Vince, lots on here about oil, Aprilia say Agip 15w50 semi synthetic but its a personal thing with lots of folks. I got a high cca battery for mine (yella fella wi the twin outputs) check the `bay !
If you are changing the battery have a look at the rec/reg plugs famous for heat production, good info on here though mine were ok just cleaned em up a bit.
Do check your clutch fluid looks like a nice light malt and no a flat stout.
I hope you enjoy your mille and keep it on the black stuff ...
Rod.

Hi all thanks for the welcome.

Gave the battery a charge and all seams good now starts on a dime and the gears are more free flowing after a fluid change.

Would anyone happen to know if this exhaust would fit on a 2000 mile
