Hi
I have a 2000 RSV Mille and just bought an arrow race can for it. The can also came with an arrow chip. The bike was running fine but I thought I would put the arrow chip in and plugged the ECU back on the bike but the bike would not fire up. It just had the efi on the dash. So I put the old chip back in and it still doesnt run it just turns over like the arrow chip. What have I done wrong if anyone could help.
Cheers

is the chip in the right way notches on the board and chip match up and did you earth yourself out when fitting it?

Hi
Chip is the right way round and no I didn't earth myself. What could I have done and is it curable.
Cheers

i'm not sure the static can fry the chips i always earth my self you on the radiator earth in my bathroom to stop this happening but someone better may be able to help

The chip is the right way round notch to notch but the ECU clicks a lot as well no start. But if put in the other way round no clicking but no start.
Cheers

So the Chip could be fried then because of the Static Electricity running through the human body or the ECU?

If so can the Chip be re-done to work again, or is it now useless?

Does the fuel pump run when you turn on the ignition ?
Did you happen to remove the tip over switch on the battery holder when gaining access to the ecu, checked your fuses ?

If your eeprom wasn't knacked from lack of earth (static runs into thousands of volts) then inserting it the wrong way round on purpose won't have helped. All ic's have a supply pin which gets 12v. Apply that 12v to a pin not meant to take it by incorrect insertion and it can go **** up quickly.

As a side note and a ex arrow can and eeprom owner, made my bike run rich, no power difference= stock eeprom better.

The fuel pump doesn't run when the ignition is turned on just the clicking inside the ECU
Cheers

Did you remove the tip over switch when taking out the ecu ? if yes, did you put it back up the right way.
Have you blown any fuses.

If there was a short etc from incorrect insertion, you may have blown a fuse. Have you checked for error codes using the diag function on the dash.

Hi
Check all fuses and tip over sensor all ok. Dia 0 on test wires. But still the same when ignition is turn on clicking from the ECU and this morning a rush of air from the front.
Cheers

Also I've gone through it the clicking is coming from the fuel pump relay could I off knackered it up with the new chip
Cheers

anything is possible. switch it for another relay, most of them are the same type so you can prove the point by using the fan relay or something similar.

hi i just fitted one of gabro's chips to my 02 rsvr. i fitted the it the correct way and did everything properly but when i turn the key the fuel pump relay starts clicking and it wont prime? when i put the origional chip back in the bike works fine. any ideas what mt problem is?

What chip was in it ? Was it siting on a daughter board? If so remove and fit gabro...otherwise tell gabro chip is a dud.

See below left chip on a daughterboard
